Dialog extract from A promising situation:
Fernando: What you are expressing there, it’s not like so?
Zohre: I don’t know, I don’t know what your opinion was.
Fernando: And what if we don’t express ourselves, then?
Zohre: That doesn’t seem so bad to me, but you know, I need to think about it.
Fernando: Ok, I’m going to tell you something…Ok, what you’re expressing there, what we’re expressing here, is it identical or not? Could you tell me that?
Zohre: Really, no, I see what you’re saying. But I don’t think that that’s what you think. I, for example, at night, I think a lot about that. Sometimes, I ask myself if I did the right thing or not. But, there is never an answer, you know?
Zohre: But I don’t know how it is for you.
Fernando: Yes, but yours is not like that, it’s not like ours. Yours, their things are not mixed up with ours. I don’t know why, we don’t know all that either. I really believe in your methods. We pay attention to everyone.
Zohre: I see what you mean.
Fernando: but you don’t believe me. I don’t know why, because you are sometimes not yourself, really not yourself sometimes. Some people lie, we are not like that. But we don’t pay any attention to it.
Zohre: But I have a question to ask you
Zohre: When I came here, I saw that, for example, you work everyday here, from morning to night. You sleep every night here, in the hotel. It’s not too strange to not be at your place? You always work here, so what’s your general impression?
Fernando: Ok, you’re right. Yours are not like ours, but there’s something that I can’t quite explain here. Your subject, my subject as well, at the same time your language is different, at the same time…
