PAsSAGES §2, Second edition of a participative show with contemporary art works, 2015, Massais.
This piece was made for the second edition of the contemporary art festival PAsSAGES in Massais. This show aimed to put in perspective the surrounding region and its history. During my research, two elements immediately attracted my attention: the river that surrounds the village and forms its landscape, the milk factory (now closed) that was an essential step in its history.
The cistern, filled with milk onto which are projected in a loop animated sequences of the river, seeks to link the present of the active waters and the history of milk, in a flux, a current that, like time and memories, never ceases to flow.
The murmuring and the lapping of the river mix with the scent of milk : it is here that their union is made, in an unfamiliar place, neither here nor there nor anywhere, floating and nothing other than the immaterial space of the work.
In this fixed cistern, water transforms itself into milk and the milk transforms itself into a river. It is the history of Massais that, freed from time, flows by.
